Today the victory of Greece was not unexpected, but it should be noted that Lithuania showed a stiff resistance, and in the 21st minute of the second half they even reduced the gap to one.
Despite this fact, Greece won the match and tomorrow they compete for 9-10 positions with the fifth team of group A. Lithuania took the 11th place.
Goalkeeper Papantonopoulos got the title of the best player again, whilst Tomkevicius with six goals was named the man of the match from Lithuania.
Ioannis Arvanitis (Greece, Head Coach): They played against us with 7 players, we have to solve this problem in our defence, we have to play against 7 players all the time. In the most parts of this game we have succeeded in that, we scored some easy goals. We had our mind in this game and we’ll see what to focus on in the tomorrows match. Todays’ game was not extremely good, in a period of time we were totally out.
Andriushka Bendaugas (Lithuania, Head Coach): We need to practice more and harder to participate in these kinds of championships. The players aren’t individually prepared, that means that they need to work more on themselves. I would rate this game with the lowest score
Lithuania 19-24 Greece
